Emily Puente, a 7th grade student at Christel House Venezuela, recently participated in the Second National Venezuelan Junior Karate-Do Tournament, winning a gold medal in the 40 kg Female Kumite category (ages 12-13).

To compete with the best in the country, she traveled to Maturin, a city 518 km west of Caracas. It was a step up from the silver medal she won during the first national tournament in March.

Oh, and this was only her second tournament ever. A big congratulations to Emily - you make us proud!
