Mrs. Rosalba Martínez Zárate is 40 years old and she is mother of four. Two of her children are students from
CHMX.
In one meeting, Mrs. Rosalba made a comment about the need that she felt to support her son in school-related matters. She mentioned that she didn’t know how to read and write.
Edith Miróz teacher of one of her children gave her a few options, like attending an open school, but she said that she works a lot and doesn’t have much time to take care of her children, nor to study afterwards. That’s when the idea came to Edith that she can help her with literacy. By giving her books through her children (who attend
Christel House) and she handed in her homework in the same way. Edith also created communication strategies that could enable her to work at the same time.
We want to recognize Mrs. Rosalba effort and also to Edith's committment to our community.
