Christel House Academy Students-- Expeditionary Learning and High Ropes

Christel House Watanabe High School incorporates Expeditionary Learning in its curriculum. What is Expeditionary Learning? It is a teaching method that uses in-depth projects to get kids out of the classroom and experience real-world learning.

Developed by the organization Outward Bound and brought to the US in the 1960s, expeditionary learning has been shown to improve self-confidence, sharpen critical thinking skills, and develop strong relationships between students and adults.

Thanks to our friends at Culver Academies who let our 9th grade class try out the High Ropes Challenge Course, which pushed these kids to new limits and taught them valuable leadership skills.
