While children around the country are counting the days until summer, students and Dads from
Christel House Academy are listening intently. You would too if you had 6'4" 300+ lb
Charlie Johnson in front of you.
Early this morning, at the last
All Pro Dads Day of the school year, Charlie Johnson #74 for the Indianapolis Colts, spoke to fathers and kids about being a new father and pro football player. With a 14 month old son (Chandler), he shared about how important the role of a father, commenting "I know it isn't an easy job".
He commended all of the fathers who attended the breakfast and talked about how fortunate he was to have his father as big part of his own life and how that has made him into the person he is today. He challenged the students to commit to their education and asked the fathers to stay engaged in their child's life, school included.
Charlie was also kind enough to sign a couple of jerseys and other Colts items that were raffled off to fathers and students as well as autographs after the program.
Thanks for the visit Charlie, and for being an All Pro Dad!
